Makeover Your Mug With A Sea Salt Glaze: Bradeen Creative Mug Makeover Workshop

During this class, you will be taught by local ceramicist Lori Bradeen. You will get to create your very own masterpiece! You will be provided with a professionally wheel-thrown mug that's still soft enough to be altered.

You'll learn how to make and attach a handle to your mug, followed by the exciting part - decorating it using an options of techniques offered. Lori will guide you (or let you do your own thing) while you unleash your inner artist to create a unique design that reflect you!

In this specific class, we will be adding a special twist to your completed mug: a sea salt glaze! This fun glaze will be added onto the brown clay body, but you will still be able to express your creativity while you decorate the mug body. Just like previous workshops, you will be able to carve your mug, add underglaze, and use design transfers.

Once the workshop is over, Lori will take care of the rest. She will dry your creation, fire it to bisque, glaze it with a clear glaze and fire it again in the glaze firing. This process takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks. Then your mug will be ready for you. You don't have to worry about any of the preparation or finishing. She's got that covered. You just show up, have fun and learn some pottery skills and techniques. In the end, you will have a functional piece of pottery.
